Pre Race Information: Saturday, January 19th at the Summit Coffee House from 5pm - 7pm in Glenwood Springs. Non-mandatory race meeting at 6:30pm. Address: 730 Grand Avenue Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
Post Race Raffle and Awards: Immediately following the race at the Sunlight Mountain Base Lodge
Special Details: The 2008 Race Division course has been extended from 2007: the first descent will be Defiance/The Heathen/Midland Trail to base area and repeat first ascent.
The Sunlight Race Course - ascend the left side of Sun King to the summit (some in the trees), descend Defiance to The Heathen, go left on Midland Trail and repeat first ascent to summit. Descend Defiance, Lower Defiance to valley floor “boneyard road”, ascend Lower Defiance, go left on Midland, skin to boot pack up Perry’s, skin up through aspens outside of the ski area to east, ascend to summit, then descend The Heathen, Lower Defiance to Midland Trail to finish at base area.
The Recreation course will ascend to the summit on the Race course, but on the descent go left and down Zephyr to meet the first ascent at the junction of Sun King. Repeat climb to the summit, descend Defiance/The Heathen to the Midland Trail, go left to finish at the base area.
